Zeenat Aman casts a throwback photo from ‘Shalimar’ to inspire her Saturday evening plans (Photo Credits- Movie Still)
Legendary actress Zeenat Aman uploaded a photo from 1977 and wrote that it served as inspiration for her “evening preparations” for this coming Saturday.
On Instagram, Zeenat posted a black-and-white photo of herself wearing a glittery dress with a plunging neck. He is seen combing his hair in the image.
She uploaded the image and wrote as the caption: “Your evening plans will be inspired by some Saturday glitz! I thought it would be helpful to provide some context after seeing this picture of me floating around the internet.”
The cast and crew of Krishna Shah’s Shalimar had assembled for the movie’s muhurat in the year 1977 at the Turf Club in Bombay. Everyone attended the crowded, high-profile event in a formal attire.
“Recognized costume designer Mani Rabadi based my magnificent silver dress on my own designs. Several people were definitely drawn to it because of the plunging neckline and sleek silhouette. In order for the gown to fit me perfectly, Mani actually had to sew me into it.
“We had a lot of international artists that day, like Gina Lollobrigida,” Zeenat remarked. Later, amid allegations that we had clashed, she pulled out of the production. Rex Harrison, a British actor who appeared in the movie, was not present at the occasion. A lovely girl like you should be married right away, he advised me one day on the set. That made me chuckle a lot. For the record, I believe that getting married for this reason is a poor idea.
“Shalimar didn’t really wow the crowd, but it was nonetheless a fantastic experience. We double-shot each scene while filming the movie in both Hindi and English.
Zeenat Aman will shortly make her OTT debut with the web series “Showstopper” on the job front.
