Zeenat Aman discusses her affection for Dev Anand.
Zeenat posted a black-and-white photo of herself and Dev Anand from their early years. It was the Golden Trio era when she began her film career, she wrote. Any actor worth his salt would acknowledge the talents of Dev Saab, Dilip Kumar, and Raj Kapoor and understand how these three legends have shaped and continue to shape Hindi cinema.
After making a great beginning in the industry, Zeenat admitted that she was eager for new roles and had appeared in a number of movies both with and without Dev Anand. Bobby, released by Rajji in 1973, was a smash single that won every award. Additionally, we had a social connection and frequently greeted one another at open occasions. In the films Vakil Babu and Gopichand Jasoos, he was also my co-star. Naturally, when the chance arose I jumped at the chance to be directed by him under the RK banner. I won’t go into detail about my experience joining the SSS because it is well known,” she continued in reference to the 1978 movie Satyam Shivam Sundaram.
“I felt honored to be selected for Raj ji’s unusual initiative, and I gave it everything I had. I had no idea that Dev Sahab was misreading the scenario at the same time. Years later, in 2007, Dev Saab’s memoirs, “Romancing with Life,” made headlines. In it, which wounded his heart, he admitted that he loved me and made a hint that Raj ji and I were more than just a director and an actor.
“I’ll be honest; I was enraged. Dev Saab, my very old mentor and someone I liked and admired platonically, was not only lacking in such true would believe the narrative, but would also go on to publish it for the world to see. I felt insulted, hurt, and disappointed. My phone kept ringing nonstop for weeks as friends asked “what actually occurred” and circulated book extracts. Though I never read it, I sent the copy that was sent to me for basement storage out of rage.
Zeenat acknowledged that she had kept quiet about a humiliating event in her life for a long time, but she has finally made the decision to come clean. In the end, he described Dev Anand as a “rare genius” and expressed his gratitude for his kind guidance. She concluded, “I do not tolerate disrespect to his name.
