Zachary Levi, who starred in Shazam: Fury of the Gods, has confirmed rumours that he will make a surprise appearance in Black Adam from a year ago. The Justice Society of America characters played by Black Adams were also supposed to appear in the sequel’s end credits scene, but the notion was scrapped. According to a rumour, Dwayne Johnson, the star of Black Adam, prevented the characters from appearing in Zachary’s movie and made sure that the actor wouldn’t feature in his movie either. The report was shared by Zachary in a post on Instagram with the caption “The truth will set you free.”
On Instagram, Zachary Levy shared a report confirming the internal feud and saying, “the truth shall set you free.”
Days after Shazam: Fury of the Gods’ underwhelming box office performance in the US, the movie’s lead has discussed potential causes for its failure. Zachary also confirmed that the producers had plans to tie the sequel to Dwayne’s Black Adam, which the former WWE star did not agree with. The actor wrote on Twitter, “I think the biggest issue we face is marketing. It is the perfect family film, and yet many families are not aware of it. Which is just a shame.
The characters of Black Adam have been brought to Shazam! by Dwayne, according to a story in The Wrap. He also ruled out a Zachary Levi cameo in Black Adam and Fury of the Gods. Dwayne wanted to instead continue the franchise with Henry Cavill’s Superman, which is why this happened. However, it has since been made clear that Henry won’t be reprising his role as Superman and that the first Black Adam movie was severely damaged, so there won’t be a second one.

It’s unknown if there will also be a third Shazam movie, but Zachary retweeted The Wrap’s report on Tuesday, writing, “The truth will set you free.” David F. Sandberg, the movie’s director, concurred with The Wrap’s account. “There should have been characters from [Black Adam’s] Justice Society, but that fell apart three days before the cameras were going to roll. So Peter Safran, who produced this movie and Peacemaker, made a few calls, and thankfully Jen Holland and Steve Agee were able to come on very short notice,” he said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter following the release of the sequel.
In the world of comic books, Shazam’s archenemy is Black Adam. Dwayne insisted on having his own spinoff movie instead of being in the 2019 original movie. Also, he got Henry to appear in Black Adam.
