Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat, two of India’s finest wrestlers, have openly protested against Wrestling Federation India president Brijbhushan Sharan Singh’s alleged sexual harassment. At Jantar Mantar in the nation’s capital, there was a recent altercation between the protesting wrestlers and the Delhi Police. Following this, a large number of celebrities, including Swara Bhaskar and Gauahar Khan, tweeted in favor of the wrestlers and called for justice for them. On this subject, electricity is now on fire as well.
It is a crucial question, Vidyut stated in Hindi when addressing the media. They are troubled, but they are also our athletes and first-class citizens. They should receive the support they need. What happens next? I believe the authorities are paying attention to him. How are they addressing their worries? As a sportsperson, I believe that if they pay attention to him, things will change. They’ll act morally upright.”
According to accounts, two wrestlers were hurt during a violent altercation on Wednesday between some wrestlers and police officers. Moreover, Vinesh Phogat said that a member of the Delhi Police had verbally abused her. Actor Gauahar Khan recently pleaded with people to “understand their anguish” while posting a video of Vinesh and her fellow wrestlers from the protest site on Twitter.
After tweeting, “If you don’t feel hurt by this, you probably are a non-living thing. Sad that these athletes are being attacked after representing India with distinction abroad. Please pay attention to his suffering; they are fighting for justice. He tagged his tweet with the words “Indian wrestler” and “proud.”
Swara Bhasker and Sonu Sood, who are both actors, tweeted in favor of wrestlers who were protesting Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh over charges of sexual harassment last month. Pooja Bhatt, an actor and filmmaker, also spoke out in favor of the wrestlers who were protesting and criticized Indian Olympic Association (IOA) president PT Usha for doing so. The most recent famous person to comment on the demonstration is Vidyut.
In his upcoming film, Vidyut plays an Indian Air Force officer who intends to blockade the airspace to stop Pakistan and China from attacking India. On May 12, IB71 will be released in theaters. Sankalp Reddy, a director, is behind this spy drama. Vishal Jethwa and Anupam Kher also have significant parts in the movie.
