Vicky Kaushal revealed on Tuesday that he has finished filming Meghna Gulzar’s Sam Bahadur. The biopic will be released on December 1st, 2023, later this year. The actor expressed his gratitude for finishing the movie in an Instagram post that included a photo of him acting as Meghna.
The actor expressed his thanks for being a member of the crew that gave it their all on Instagram, writing, “Gratitude, gratitude and only gratitude… for being a part of this process of presenting the life of a true icon. I’m very moved. So, I have a lot to learn and a lot to share with all of you. The Manekshaw family, the Indian Army, and the man, FM Sam HFJ Manekshaw, myself, Meghna, Ronnie, my great co-actors, the incredible crew… I’m grateful. Vicky uploaded a photo of himself dressed as Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw on the sets. Director Meghna is grinning and posing in front of him as he sits on top of a jeep.
On the comments section, Vicky’s father, action director Sham Kaushal, said, “God bless the film and the entire team with every success. Love you and proud of you, Puttar (son). (emojis with a happy face, flowers, and a hug) Writing “Killing it bhai (fire and red heart emoji),” actor Satyadeep Dubey. On Vicky’s post, director Shlok Sharma also added fire emojis.
Also, admirers praised the actor for the upcoming movie and expressed how thrilled they were to witness him playing a war hero. One supporter said on Instagram, “Your happiness (smiley face and red heart emoji) tells me how fantastic this movie will be. I cannot wait.” One more supporter commented, “Very proud of you Heera (Heera).”
Meghna and Vicky previously collaborated on the 2018 film Raazi, which featured Alia Bhatt in the lead role. Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh played the roles of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and Sam Bahadur’s wife Sillu, respectively.
The biopic will trace Sam’s experiences in the Indian Army over the course of four decades and numerous conflicts. Sam was the first Indian Army officer to be given the title of Field Marshal, and Bangladesh was founded as a result of his military triumph in the 1971 Indo-Pak War.
