When Rajasthan Royals trounced Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday, they got off to a good start in the Indian Premier League 2023. The club put on a strong batting display; The Royals posted 203/5 in 20 overs to become the first team in the current edition to score 200 runs. The top three batsmen for the team—Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler, and Sanju Samson—scored outstanding half-centuries. The bowlers then suffered as RR held Sunrisers to 131/8 with Yuzvendra Chahal taking four wickets.

With stats of 4/17 and wickets of Mayank Agarwal, Harry Brook, Adil Rashid, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Chahal stood out in the game. At one point during the run-chase, it appeared unlikely that SRH would even reach the 100-run threshold, but Abdul Samad (32*) and Umran Malik (19* off 7 balls) came on strong late in the innings to help the team reach a decent total.
Yuzvendra Chahal made an intriguing statement in a video that was aired by the Rajasthan Royals’ official Twitter account after the game. The video showed the team travelling after their victory. The next batsman, Umran Malik, successfully defended the delivery as Chahal claimed his fourth wicket on the fifth ball of his final over of the innings.
When questioned if it was a matter of a missed chance, Chahal made a significant admission. “Yuzi bhai, tell me anything, please. Yesterday, you took four wickets; if Umran Bhai hadn’t stood his ground, you would have taken five. What do you want to say to him?” The host enquired of Chahal.
The leg-spinner answered back, “Almost nothing. I still recall him telling me, “I’ll hit you for three sixes whenever I see you.” Unfortunately, he didn’t “causing the anchor to cry.
