On Tuesday, Greta Gerwig’s Barbie’s second teaser trailer was out, and since then, fans have shared their impressions of the hotly awaited summer release on social media. The new trailer, which debuted with the movie’s official poster and character posters, provided audiences a look at the brightly hued Barbie universe and introduced Ryan Gosling as Kane and Margot Robbie as Barbie.
Barbie refers to Margot Robbie as “everything” in the primary poster. Issa Rae, Kate McKinnon, Nicola Coughlan, Hari Neff, Alexandra Shipp, Ritu Arya, Emma Mackey, Dua Lipa, Ana Cruz Kayne, and Sharon Rooney have more character posters available. The teaser trailer depicts the vibrant atmosphere of the movie, where everyone waves to Barbie, and quickly develops into a fight between Ryan and Simu Liu’s Ken.
Twitter’s response to the poster and teaser was very positive, and soon both Barbie and filmmaker Greta Gerwig were trending topics. “I haven’t been impressed at a single scene like this from a superhero movie since 2004,” one fan said in response to the opening image of Barbie removing her heel to walk on her toes. In reference to the box office competition with Christopher Nolan’s movie, which is coming out on the same date, another person said, “I’m leaving Oppenheimer and sitting for Barbie on July 21, 2023.” One supporter placed official posters for each of the three movies he has directed, including Lady Bird and Little Women, and added, “Greta Gerwig carrying a movie on her back!”

Once Margot’s Barbie departs the doll universe and tries to live in the real world, Barbie is believed to follow her. On July 21, 2023, Warner Bros. Pictures will release Barbie, which was co-written by Greta and Noah Baumbach.
