Harry Styles was one of the options put out by fans, and now director Rob Marshall is admitting that he met with the singer and explaining why things didn’t work out.
“I met him. It was beautiful. What a great person,” Marshall said about the former member of One Direction in an interview with EW. Yet in the end, he genuinely believed that he wanted to go and work on the films that he ultimately did. This had a dark hue.

Jonah Hauer-King eventually won the role of Prince Eric after dashing Marshall’s expectations during the audition process.
Marshall stated, “I’m always searching for someone who can identify deeply to a part. When the words suddenly appear in his mouth, they feel realistic and real because they suddenly jump off the page. You have faith in them.
