SoFi Stadium is currently a hub of activity, with a packed schedule of concerts and sporting events. Music fans are looking forward to Shakira’s two shows on August 4 and 5 as part of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, with special guests the Black Eyed Peas. The NFL preseason is also underway, featuring the Dallas Cowboys at the Los Angeles Rams on August 9, and the New Orleans Saints at the Los Angeles Chargers on August 10. The regular NFL season begins in September, with the Rams hosting the Houston Texans on September 7 and the Chargers playing the Denver Broncos on September 21. Beyond the stadium, the larger Hollywood Park area recently hosted the HARD Summer music festival and a Lady Gaga concert at the Kia Forum, which has led to renewed noise complaints from Inglewood residents. In response, city officials have confirmed that outdoor concerts at the American Airlines Plaza at SoFi Stadium have been banned to mitigate sound issues.
Major Future Events and Development
SoFi Stadium’s role as a world-class venue is set to expand in the coming years with its selection as a host for two of the world’s largest sporting events. The stadium will host eight matches during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including two of the United States Men’s National Team’s group games. For the tournament, the venue will be known as “Los Angeles Stadium at Hollywood Park.” In a significant announcement in May 2025, the LA28 organizing committee confirmed that the stadium will co-host the opening ceremony of the 2028 Olympic Games with the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The stadium will also be transformed to host the swimming events, becoming the largest swimming venue in Olympic history with a seating capacity of 38,000. Additionally, the NFL’s West Coast Headquarters at Hollywood Park will serve as the main press center for the games.
