Sunny Deol Says Bollywood Filmmakers Lack Passion

When the teaser for the movie Jaat was released a few weeks ago, Sunny Deol said that Bollywood producers may take a cue from their southern counterparts. The actor has now reaffirmed this in a recent interview. He claimed that the folks from the south learned from us and continued on their way, but Bollywood filmmakers lacked heart. “People from the South learned from us and continued to move forward, and they have advanced so much technically and in every aspect,” he said. “The way we used to make cinema, the passion with which we made cinema, those things have started lacking. They are making a picture for the audience, not for a selected audience, and their cinema always works.”

Deol went on to say that Bollywood began remaking South films, which proved to be profitable at the box office. Because belief is the story, the film’s hero, and the director is the one who makes it come to life, “this means that somewhere, our creators, producers, writers, and directors no longer have the same passion and belief.” “If we believe in both of these aspects, we should work accordingly. But if we think we know everything today, there are so many monitors, and everyone gives their opinions—because of this, mistakes happen.”
Speaking of Sunny Deol’s Jaat, Gopichand Malineni, a Telugu filmmaker, is the film’s director. In addition to Regina Cassandra, Randeep Hooda, Ayesha Khan, Saiyami Kher, Zarina Wahab, Vineet Kumar Singh, Dayanand Shetty, Jagapati Babu, and Prashant Bajaj in supporting parts, Jaat marks his Hindi film debut. On April 10, the movie will be released in theaters.
