Both the Akshay Kumar film Oh My God 2 (OMG 2) and the Sunny Deol film Gadar 2 will be released on August 11, 2023. Gadar 2’s Sunny, who performs opposite Ameesha Patel in a recent interview, was questioned regarding how their movie clashed with OMG 2. Sunny recounted how Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India, starring Aamir Khan, and his 2001 movie Gadar: Ek Prem Katha clashed. When there is no comparison between the movie, he claimed he does not understand why people do so.
About the numerous major box office conflicts this year, Sunny was questioned. On Friday, the actor was questioned about how he felt about Gadar 2 clashing with OMG 2, and he said that good movies shouldn’t be judged against inferior ones.

“Gadar made 100 crores (in box office revenue), but Lagaan made much less. I don’t know why people compare, whether it’s from a company or customer perspective. People had no idea what Gadar was; they believed it to be a masala movie, an outdated image, and an outdated song (people thought Gadar is old type film with old songs). Yet, other individuals thought Lagaan was a classic, etc. Gadar was absolutely dissed by the so-called movie talkers. The public embraced the movie and enjoyed it. He cracked a Gadar joke at the awards ceremony, but we didn’t mind. Some of my previous movies, like Ghayal and Dil, which clashed, also experienced this. Although there is no comparison, individuals enjoy doing it.
Sunny went on to explain, “I’m trying to convey that since the first movie is so good, the second movie should be equally good. Why should people contrast one excellent movie with others is the question Jis cheez ki barabari nahi hai mat karo. It is inappropriate to compare films that cannot be compared.”
About OMG 2
On August 11, the movie will hit theaters, competing at the box office with Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel’s Gadar 2, another sequel. Yet according to recent reports, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is taking into consideration dialogue and situations in Oh My God 2 (OMG 2) in order to avoid a backlash such to that experienced by Adipurush in the future.
Akshay plays a role in the Amit Rasi-directed sequel Oh My God 2 that is modeled after Lord Shiva, and Pankaj Tripathi plays a devotee of Lord Shiva named Kanti Sharan Mudgal. Yami Gautam plays a lawyer in OMG 2 as well. Arun Govil and Govind Namdev are reportedly also planning to appear in the movie.

Ameesha Patel and Sunny play the key characters in Gadar 2, which is directed by Anil Sharma. One of Bollywood’s highest-grossing movies ever at the time was his 2001 feature Gadar. The sequel happens 20 years after the first film.
In a 2022 interview with Hindustan Times, director Anil Sharma discussed Gadar 2 and said, “We have worked with the same cast and characters Tara Singh (Sunny), Sakina (Ameesha), and Jeete (Utkarsh Sharma). The tale has advanced by 22 years as well. It’s a normal process for everyone as my son (Utkarsh) has grown from a child to a young man. It will be a brand-new movie for brand-new viewers and a sequel for longtime fans.
