It has been 30 years since Divya Bharti, a legendary star, died mystifyingly after tumbling from a balcony. Eight of the actress’s unfinished movies—big budget movies—were later finished with different actors.

The Gayatri Mantra should be chanted, Shakti Kapoor later suggested. After Raveena Tandon held Sridevi’s hand and the two remained together, the sequence could be shot without incident. Tragically, Sridevi died a mysterious death by drowning in a bathtub many years after Divya Bharti.
