Recently, Sonu Sood showed up for a lengthy interview with a reputable news source. The actor, who has worked in the entertainment business for more than 40 years, shot to fame during the lockdown when he took on the role of a messiah for migrant workers. After receiving accolades for assisting people who were having a difficult time returning home during the new coronavirus outbreak, the actor’s name quickly spread over the internet.
He spoke candidly about rejecting Dabangg before also discussing how the entertainment industry is often criticised. He recently claimed that “people are either being over-sensitive or too sensitive” when asked about the business being criticised for the “misrepresentation of Hindus” on the big screen. Before Pathan’s release, netizens campaigned for a boycott of it and other Bollywood movies, which peaked after the producers removed the first song, Besharam Rang.
“I think people have become more sensitive, or are becoming more sensitive, it is a cycle,” Sonu Sood told ANI. Anyone boycotts movies… I’m not sure how accurate, sincere, or profoundly you mean that. It is also unfair to call for a boycott of the movie without having seen it. He added that although a filmmaker might think their film resembles Sholay, no one can truly assess until the movie has been released.
According to Sonu Sood, you shouldn’t let the calibre or result of the movie prevent you from saying what you want to say. You can say the image is bad and reject it, but I don’t think it’s appropriate to judge the image before seeing it. You must give us an opportunity to hear your side of the story before we decide whether or not to listen.
Sonu Sood will next be seen in Fateh, following his performance in Samrat Prithviraj, a film starring Akshay Kumar.
