Shweta Tripathi to turn producer, gears up for her first production this year: “I feel inspired to tell my own stories”
In an exciting new chapter in her storied career, actress Shweta Tripathi is ready to take on a new role as she enters the production industry. Shweta has made a name for herself in the movie and over-the-top (OTT) industries thanks to her strong performances and unique role selection.
Among other critically praised films and television shows, Shweta is well-known for her roles in Masaan, Cargo, the Mirzapur franchise, the Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhein franchise, Haraamkhor, Gone Kesh, and Kaalkoot.
“As an actor, I have been blessed to receive enormous love, support, and respect from the industry, critics, and audiences,” Shweta said when discussing her desire to enter the production business. Stories that question norms and present novel viewpoints have always captivated me. I have worked on projects that transcend stereotypes and have a strong emotional connection over the years, and now that I have had so much support, I am motivated to share my own story. Since making movies is such a team effort, I want to get involved in every facet of it. It seems like the perfect time to fully embrace and celebrate this great shift, especially now that women are gaining more autonomy and possibilities.
She went on to say, “I am excited about this new phase because it will enable me to work with amazing storytellers and create original, powerful storytelling.” I want to make room for tales that provoke thought-provoking discussions, question accepted wisdom, and motivate action. My passion will always be performing, but producing gives me the opportunity to make a fresh and meaningful contribution to the field. I am working on my first project right now, and I will be providing more information shortly.
