Rani Mukherjee is occupied right now getting ready for the Friday release of her movie Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway. Her voice was dubbed over “for the betterment of the film,” the actor, who rose to fame with the role in Ghulam opposite Aamir Khan, recalls. A few months before Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol’s Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Karan Johar’s film was released in June 1998.
Rani claimed in a recent interview that her “soul is not in Ghulam” because she felt insulted when her role as a “leading lady opposite Aamir” was questioned. Aamir Khan apologized to Rani for dubbing her voice in Ghulam after she watched the 1998 film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, according to an old interview with Rani.
“You don’t have much of a choice as a beginner. Decisions are made by filmmakers to improve their work. So yeah, my voice was dubbed, but just in Ghulam. During Ghulam, I kept wondering if it was good for the lead lady beside Aamir. My voice has been dubbed, I was told, for the sake of the movie. I was hurt, but I didn’t let it affect me too much. Still, I believe that my soul is not in Ghulam “In a recent interview, Rani Mukerji spoke with ETimes.
“I was there in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai soon,” she remarked. I was asked by Karan Johar if I had any issues having my voice dubbed. I refused. In Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat, my debut movie, he asked me if I would do my own voice acting. When I said yes, he told me he liked my voice and wanted me to do the dubbing.
“I recall Aamir calling me after watching KKHH (Kuch Kuch Hota Hai), and he said, Babes I think we have nailed your voice,” Rani had remarked in an interview with Mid-Day in 2018. Dubbing it was a tremendous error. Moreover, your voice is lovely. Because of how much I admire him, I thought that was a very beautiful moment. For me as a novice, the fact that he called and admitted to making a mistake was a major thing.
Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat, a 1997 film, marked Rani’s acting debut. On March 17, Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway, her most recent film, will be released. regain custody of her children. Neena Gupta, Jim Sarbh, and Anirban Bhattacharya are also featured in the movie.
