Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji expressed her sorrow on the unexpected passing of director Pradeep Sarkar.

Following complications with his kidneys, the director passed away on March 24 at around 3:30 am in Mumbai.

The actress Rani Mukherjee, who collaborated with Pradeep on the films “Mardaani” and “Laga Chunari Mein Daag,” expressed her shock at hearing the news of Dada’s passing. In fact, we chatted the day before I traveled to Amritsar’s Golden Temple. He called to tell me about his movie, and we had a lengthy conversation during which he insisted on using FaceTime. But, the network that day was poor, so I was unable to video call with him. When I go back this week, we had planned to meet, but this is so unexpected.

It is terribly sad and startling that Dada went away in this way, Rani Mukherjee said, adding, “His wife (Panchali Boudi) phoned me at 4 in the morning when this happened. I was told by Boudi that he was in remission. and everything was fine for him. I’m not sure how everything happened in a matter of hours because he had been shooting for the previous few days as well. Dada had a great relationship with me and we did a lot of work together over the years, so losing him is really like losing a family member. I’m sure everyone who knew Dada would miss him dearly.

One of the most admired directors in Hindi cinema, Pradeep made his directorial debut with the movie “Parineeta,” which starred Saif Ali Khan, Sanjay Dutt, and Vidya Balan. His films starring Rani Mukerji received high praise from critics and did well at the box office.

Rani Mukerji further remarked, “My heart goes out to Bodi, Rono and Raya as they were a very close family and to all the people who worked in Dada’s production studio and who were affiliated with him throughout the years. They will endure great suffering.

I feel terrible about it because I was going to meet him shortly, so I’m extremely sorry. You never realize how erratic life is until someone you were speaking to the next minute is no longer there. I shall preserve my last memory with me that he was really happy and excited for me when he phoned me to share the response he was getting about my film and myself from all over ,” said Rani Mukerji.

Not only Rani Mukherjee but the entire film industry is greatly startled and grieved by the demise of the filmmaker. May he rest in peace, his soul.
