Randeep Hooda is known for going above and beyond to lend a hand when circumstances call for it. This year’s rains have caused havoc in many states, but they have also had an impact on life in Punjab. And just lately, the actor was on the ground supplying the affected populations with necessities.
“People are not discussing this flood and how it is affecting both humans and animals in the two states of Punjab and Haryana. To raise awareness and inspire the already motivated Khalsa Aid volunteers and donors to help, I personally went to the area. When I was associated with Khalsa Aid volunteers a few years ago, the grassroots work was the ultimate service that I admired in them, the 46-year-old actor told us.
Even though he is now back in Mumbai, he still keeps in touch with the grassroots volunteers. “I will continue to donate, support, and raise public awareness about helping those in need,” the actor declares.
Hooda describes the situation in more detail, stating that parts of Punjab and Haryana are completely under water. People, especially those living in the middle of farms, have become isolated and difficult to reach for assistance as farms have turned into oceans of water. To help those in need, volunteers have organized boats, tractors, and even swimming. Some villages and even cities have experienced flooding. Large-scale issues with access to clean water, basic necessities, and sanitation can cause further harm to both people and animals. Another issue being addressed is feeding cattle and saving stranded animals.
