Raj Babbar, a veteran actor and politician, remembers working with producer Boney Kapoor and director Bapu on the multi-starrer “Hum Paanch” in 1980. He related a humorous story about a dancing scene from the movie. Apart for Mithun Chakraborty, he made fun of himself, his fellow actors Naseeruddin Shah, Gulshan Grover, and Uday Chandra by labeling them all “excellent dancers.”

Nevertheless, the exact reverse occurred in fact. He stated: “That was Boney Kapoor’s debut film at the time, and there were between 1,000 and 1500 dancers on set while “Hum Paanch” was being filmed. I, Naseeruddin Shah, Gulshan Grover, and Uday Chandra were all excellent dancers who executed each step flawlessly. While Mithun Chakraborty, a terrible dancer, performed every move flawlessly in a single motion. All of us were tense while watching this. Our dance director at the time was Kamal (Kumar), ji, a tough yet well-known choreographer.

We didn’t know how to dance, so we organized a syndicate and began dancing unconventionally, according to Raj Babbar. We all made the decision to run when we suddenly heard a sound. When Boney Kapoor noticed us running, he stopped to talk to us, and over time, we grew close. So we made the decision to just wave and let the mob dance. It proved to be an extremely wise decision.”

Raj Babbar, an actor with training from the National School of Drama, has appeared in numerous Hindi and Punjabi movies. He became incredibly well-known for playing a rapist in the movie “Insaaf Ka Taraju.” He also participated in several movies, including “Aap To Aise Na The,” “Raaz,” “Prem Geet,” “Armaan,” “Nikah,” “Waris,” “Bodyguard,” “Force,” and “Khiladi 786.”

Raj Babbar also discussed how he attempted to persuade Kama Kumar that he was a skilled dancer when the host of “The Kapil Sharma Show” questioned him about his dancing experience in the movie “Inteha.” Not a dancer, he once confessed a failure to sing properly with Kamal during his NSD days by his music teacher.

Raj Babbar shared with Kapil what he had shared with the choreographer: “During my NSD days, there was a music class period. As a result, I used to receive instruction from a very seasoned instructor, and he had high expectations for my performance. Thus, while he was playing the melody I was meant to sing along to, I was actually singing an entirely different melody. He kept trying to find my tune because I did so poorly, but eventually gave up.

He attempted to persuade Kamal Kumar that he was not talented in music and dance after telling him about this occurrence.

In his conclusion, he said, “I had warned Kamal ji about the situation, saying that he was very experienced in music and could not identify a song in my music.
