The upcoming movie “Sana,” which stars Radhika Madan, “Tumbbad” star Sohum Shah, Shikha Talsania, and Pooja Bhatt, has been chosen for the 23rd New York Indian Film Festival’s official competition. The festival will take place from May 11 to May 23.
The festival, which features films from India and the Indian diaspora, is the oldest and most prominent in North America. The festival honors Indian cinema from around the world.
The movie, whose director Sudhanshu Sariya won a National Prize, depicts the tale of a 28-year-old lady named Radhika Madan who is going through an internal struggle as a result of unresolved trauma.
It is a huge honor that “Sana” has been chosen for official competition at the New York Indian Film Festival, according to director Sudhanshu Sariya. The festival has traditionally supported independent film from the Indian diaspora, and we are delighted to have such a diverse lineup. We are also excited to present my film alongside other noteworthy productions. I’m excited to attend the event and interact with other filmmakers and viewers.
The movie was previously appeared at the 38th Santa Barbara International Film Festival and the 26th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival. It will also serve as the opening feature for the 25th UK Asia Film Festival, which is slated to run from May 4 to May 13, 2023.
Radhika completed six projects for the untrained in the previous year, all of them are scheduled for publication this year. The “Angrezi Medium” actress began filming for her subsequent movie earlier this year while continuing to work on her current project. Radhika Madan arrived in Delhi to begin the next schedule of her movie and shared her excitement about filming there in an Instagram story. “After nine years in the business, this is my first time filming in my hometown! Dilli,” Radhika wrote.
The Santa Barbara International Film Festival will have the North American debut of Sudhanshu Sariya’s film Sanaa, the only Indian film to be shown there.
