Actress Priyanka Chopra has discussed how her lockdown has been strengthened by her husband Nick Jonas. Malti Mary has never been without at least one of her parents, according to Priyanka, who recalled the day they learned about her early birth.
In honor of their mother, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas gave their daughter the name Malti Marie.
After a brief courtship, singer Nick Jonas and actress Priyanka Chopra got married in 2018. Malti Mary Chopra Jonas, the couple’s first child, was born last year via surrogacy. Malti was born too soon and spent 100 days in the NICU before her parents took her home.
Priyanka recalled Malti’s birth and informed the Today Show, “This is yet another beautiful illustration of my husband’s courage. I kind of shut down because I wasn’t sure how to respond. Just tell me what to do, I pleaded as he held me by the shoulders. I didn’t know what to do. Just get in the car with me, he commanded. We then traveled to the hospital. She was born, and ever since she breathed her first breath till today, she has always had one of us by her side. It wasn’t our test, in my opinion. It seemed to me very quickly that I didn’t have the luxury of being terrified or weak because she was. I suppose this was her test. As his mother, I had to be his pillar of support. I needed her to constantly feel like she was with us and not alone.”
