Perhaps due to the “elephant in the room,” rather than the honoree, Nikki Glaser was one of the few celebrities to walk the red carpet for this year’s Mark Twain Prize.

You simply fear that you will be doxxed and threatened with death, or who knows where this could lead to you being arrested. To be honest, that is not even a joke. It resembles a genuine fear. Although I am sorry that is the case, I will not pretend that I do not occasionally think about that and exclaim, “Oh, god.” I hope everyone knows that I can stand on the gallows and claim that I was only kidding. I hope that my profession as a comedian serves as a protection.
