When Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s film Namastey London celebrates its 16th anniversary, he discusses the movie and what makes it meaningful to him. Also, he remembered working on the movie alongside Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif.
Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif are the main characters in the love story of a Punjabi lad and a British girl in Namastey London. In supporting parts, it also features Rishi Kapoor, Neena Wadia, Javed Sheikh, Upen Patel, and Clive Standen. On Thursday, the movie—which debuted in 2007—turned 16 years old. The direction, plot, and music of the movie got warm reviews.
Vipul, who has helmed movies such as “Aankhen,” “Waqt: The Race Against Time,” and “Action Replayy,” among others, reminisced about working with Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif on that project.
“Namastey London is a very significant film for me,” he declared. Namastey London was one of those stories I’ve always wanted to tell because it speaks to today’s youth. I wanted to alter how people think of love in the movie. Akshay and Katrina were the leads on a beautiful voyage.
“The film is counting its magnificent 16 years today, it is truly a moment to cherish for myself and the entire team as the film is getting the same kind of affection that it got this time,” he stated in reference to the film’s completion of 16 years. It’s time to release.
