Donald Trump is thrilled about the prospect of being detained and charged, but his family is not, a source says Page Six.
With the amount of media coverage the former president is receiving and his belief that it would strengthen his support base, we reported this week that he is in “good spirits” and that his team is “pumped.”
His wife, Melania, isn’t displaying the same excitement, a source tells us.
She is trying to avoid it. According to a source, she wants to keep [their son] Barron safe.
The insider added, “Melania is really easy back. She won’t attend dinners and other gatherings at Mar-a-Lago. He is socially awkward despite his attempts to appear normal.
Ivanka Trump, a daughter of President Trump, and Jared Kushner, a former top adviser in the White House, are reportedly equally clear.
They want nothing to do with it, a source claims.
They are avoiding the area because they do not want reporters to follow them. He won’t be defending them, in my opinion; that wouldn’t be a comment.
From the source: “During her presidency, Ivanka lost a lot of friends and a lot of her social circle. They wish to put it behind them. They want it out of the way.”
The pair is “establishing their lives back in Miami,” according to another insider.
Trump reportedly pleaded with Ivanka and Kushner, who have three children together, to join his campaign, according to a November Post report.
Trump said he intended to protect the duo, who had previously collaborated closely with him, from the “mean and terrible” world of politics when he denied asking her on social media.
Ivanka stated, “I adore my father,” in a statement. This time, my young children and our family’s personal life are taking precedence. I do not intend to enter politics.
A special counsel reportedly subpoenaed Kushner and Ivanka in February to testify about the 45th president’s involvement in the Capitol violence on January 6, 2021. Ivanka was separately mentioned in a fraud case brought against her father’s business, but her legal team filed documents claiming she had no part in the transaction.
As a result of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s ongoing inquiry into allegations that hush money was given to porn star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election, Trump may be detained and charged. Trump disputes Daniels’ allegations that she had an affair with him in 2006.
Trump is “in excellent spirits,” according to a Page Six source from earlier this week, and he and his team are enjoying the publicity around a possible impeachment.
They are quite excited about it, a source tells us. He wants any indictment and arrest to be made public if there is one.
Even more, Trump’s supporters intend to “attempt and film and document it with their own camera team; they want a shot of him in cuffs and will distribute the mugshot. They are like it,” remarked a source.
Trump is “enjoying being back in the press and being the centre of attention,” according to a different source. He believes that this “trumped-up allegation” will support his case.
Requests for response from the spokesperson were not answered.
