Mawra Hocane has been ruling the headlines, ever since the re-release of Sanam Teri Kasam. The actor has been actively speaking about her role as Saru in the movie. Filmfare reached out to her again after her debut music video in Bollywood. She recently starred alongside Akhil Sachdeva in his music video, titled Tu Chaand Hai. Speaking about the same, Mawra expressed her excitement about returning to the Indian film industry.
When asked what prompted her to make an Indian collaboration after so long, she noted that “it just felt right.” Elaborating further, the actor praised Akhil as an incredible singer. “The song simply resonated with me,” she added. We couldn’t help but ask about her future collaborations in Bollywood. While Mawra is not sure about the projects yet, she confirmed that she has always been open to the idea of starring in a Bollywood movie. “I have always been open to it,” she said. Delving deeper, Mawra added, “My top dream is to start opposite Salman khan if conditions allow.”
In one of our previous interviews with her, Mawra had noted that Salman was a constant support during Sanam Teri Kasam’s filming. “We received a lot of blessings and love from him throughout the film. My directors had previously worked with him. So, we were connected with him throughout. I remember back then he gave us appreciation and love for the film. I was over the moon,” she shared.
We hope Mawra’s dream of starring opposite Salman Khan comes true. However, as she got married recently, we asked her about her co-star and husband Ameer Gilani’s reaction to the music video. “Oh, he loved it. He is my loudest cheer leader. I always have him backing me and helping me with my decisions,” she said. The couple also starred in a Pakistani drama together, Agar Tum Sath Ho, which has been quite popular in India as well. “It’s very special to be constantly around him at work as well, it’s such a bliss. I think it’d be hard now to be without him,” she gleefully added.
