Actress Madhu claims that when her kids saw one of her films and called her ‘old fashioned’, they were actually fans of Priyanka Chopra and Preity Zinta. Love You Mr. Kalakar, a 2012 movie with Tusshar Kapoor and Amrita Rao in the key roles, was the subject.
Madhu discusses her children and how they perceive her acting.
Madhu made her screen debut in Bollywood with Kuku Kohli’s Phool Aur Kaante in 1991. The same year, she also made her debut in Tamil cinema with Balachander’s Azhagan. Mammootty, Bhanupriya, and Geetha appeared in the movie. He has also contributed to a number of noteworthy films, such as the 1992 Mani Ratnam picture Roja, which received high praise from critics.
When asked if her acting hasn’t changed, Madhu responded in a recent interview with ETimes that she wouldn’t have changed if she hadn’t worked (as an actor). Afterwards she recalled how her kids used to watch her films and said that she was acting “old style” in the movie. “I made a movie in 2012/13, when my kids were still in school,” he claimed. I made that movie because Love You Mr. Kalakar was a Rajshree production and was entirely shot in Mumbai. When my children returned from seeing the movie with their friends, they said, “Mumma, you are really old-fashioned in your movie.” My kids telling me that I was a “old-fashioned actor” when they got home shocked me.
“Krrish and all those films were coming out at that time,” he remarked. Priyanka Chopra and Preity Zinta were favourites of my children. From my very first movie to Roja and all the others, it was clear that Madhu was a talented performer. After a break, you finally work on a movie, and your own children accuse you of being a dated actor. For me, it served as a wake-up call. I realised I had to change after that. A While the projection has altered, the actor’s feelings haven’t. I believe I am now on par with Bella Hadid, Deepika Padukone, and Alia Bhatt now that my children adore my work.
Over ten years after her last appearance in a movie, Madhu made a comeback with Kabhi Socha Bhi Na Tha in 2008. He later performed in the 2011 film Love You Mr. Kalakar. Samantha Ruth Prabhu played Shakuntala in Gunasekhar’s Shakuntalam, which was her most recent performance. In the movie, Madhu portrayed his fairy mother, Menaka.
