Deverakonda’s Comeback Film Faces Controversy

The highly anticipated Lollapalooza 2025 music festival is officially underway, running from Thursday, July 31, to Sunday, August 3, in its traditional home of Grant Park in Chicago. The first day of the festival, on July 31, saw big names take the stage, with Tyler, the Creator and Luke Combs headlining. Other Thursday performances included Gracie Abrams, Cage the Elephant, and the K-pop band Xdinary Heroes. Friday’s headliners will be pop superstar Olivia Rodrigo and the iconic rock band Korn, with performances from Foster the People, T-Pain, and DJO also on the schedule. The festival’s global appeal is evident in its largest-ever showcase of K-pop, with superstars TWICE headlining Saturday, joined by Rüfüs Du Sol. Sunday will be closed out by Sabrina Carpenter and A$AP Rocky. The festival promises over 170 performances across nine stages, making it a must-see event for music lovers of all tastes.

Festival Logistics and Growing K-Pop Presence

For those attending Lollapalooza, Chicago city officials have put extensive security measures and street closures in place to ensure a safe experience for the hundreds of thousands of fans expected daily. The Chicago Office of Emergency Management and Communications has stressed that public safety is the city’s first priority, with airport-style security checkpoints and a clear bag policy in effect. Festivalgoers are encouraged to use public transportation, as the CTA has announced extra train service and will be rerouting bus lines to accommodate the large crowds. In a notable first for the festival, TWICE will be the first female K-pop group to headline Lollapalooza, further cementing the genre’s explosive popularity. Luke Combs’s headlining slot also marks a milestone as the first country artist to close out a day at the festival. For those unable to attend in person, the festival is available to stream live on Hulu for the fifth consecutive year, allowing a front-row experience from the comfort of home.
