In honour of his mother Hiroo Johar’s 80th birthday, the filmmaker Karan Johar addressed a heartfelt message to her on Saturday. She was “brave and determined,” he said, and he said she taught him how to love.
On Instagram, Karan posted a number of photos of himself, his mother, his late father, and his kids, Yash and Roohi.
Today is my mother’s 80th birthday, writes Karan Johar. She is strong and tolerant. She showed me how to love and how to defend my convictions. She also taught me never to excuse or defend my actions, and if I’m in the wrong, never to pretend I wasn’t there.
