Jim Carrey is well-known for his parts in The Mask, The Truman Show, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Although his comedy roles are appreciated by the public, many people were perplexed by his Ace Ventura portrayal. while discussing the movie recently. Carrey revealed why he decided to take on the project. Speaking, he disclosed that during the filming process, his goals for the film were different.

“I made it to make fun of the leading man, to make fun of the guy with the answers, the Sherlock Holmes meets Clint Eastwood kind of actor.” Jim explained when discussing the film that he created Ace Ventura in order to “destroy Hollywood, not be a part of it.” “To me, there always has to be a subversive aspect. You don’t have to go far, you just have to go to an honest place. Honesty is subversive,” he added.

“I hear it said that most of us are wearing one in the city of masks, and when somebody is authentic, it becomes very difficult for everyone to wear their masks. They start to really look at masks,” he continued.
