The day has finally arrived for Jiah Khan’s family after ten years! The actress committed suicide in June 2013, shocking the entire country. The Nisahab actress was discovered dead in her Juhu, Mumbai, flat on June 3. However, a six-page letter that detailed Sooraj Pancholi’s arrest for “abetment to suicide” was later found in the late actress’ home. Later, the media received access to the letter. After ten years of anticipation, the Mumbai court has now rendered its decision.
Although Jiah’s mother Rabia Khan referred to it as murder, the autopsy report determined that hanging was the cause of death and ruled out any other potential causes of death. Later, Rabia asked the CBI to take over the investigation from the Mumbai Police, who again denied any suspicion of murder in 2016. Aditya Pancholi sued Rabia for slander in 2014, suing her for Rs 100 crore.
In the most recent developments, Sooraj Pancholi was found not guilty in the suicide of Jiah Khan case. This afternoon, the result was announced. When he was released due to a lack of evidence, the actor was relieved.
Rabia, Jiah Khan’s mother, told ETimes that she was unsure of the outcome of the truth that her family stands for. I can sense my son’s suffering when he looks at me. He’s not looking me in the eyes. We don’t communicate much between us. I understand what he is experiencing. And I’m feeling powerless. I’m powerless to speak to him. My son is a pure soul, I know that. There have been ten years. But I firmly believe what I just said. I believe it has been a difficult phase. But rather than darkness, there is fear in God’s house. Since my son is innocent, I have complete faith that justice will be served.
Nishabd, in which she made her Bollywood debut alongside Amitabh Bachchan, was followed by her appearance in Ghajini, the highest-grossing Bollywood movie of 2008.
