Since the movie’s teaser debuted last month, Jaya Bachchan’s role in Karan Johar’s upcoming romantic comedy Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani has captured everyone’s interest and intrigue. Her harsh matriarch role Dhanalakshmi seems out of place in the happy, optimistic world of the Dharma Productions movie.

The most recent song from the movie, Dhindhora Baje Re, has brought Jaya’s character back into the spotlight. In the movie, Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh perform a dynamic dance performance on the occasion of Durga Puja. Jaya stands out in a navy blue sari amid a sea of crimson gowns and scenery.

Twitter Reacts to Jaya’s Stern Expression

Jaya’s stern facial expressions in Dhindhora Baje Re have gone viral on Twitter. On the microblogging website, some individuals posted amusing comments and memes.

Jaya Bachchan’s reaction after watching Kajra Re, the well-known dance number from Shaad Ali’s 2005 romantic comedy Bunty Aur Babli, which starred Jaya’s family, including her husband Amitabh Bachchan, son-in-law Abhishek Bachchan, and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai, was referenced by a user in a screenshot of Jaya’s expression from the song. Aishwarya wasn’t yet wed to Abhishek, though, at that point.

About Dhindora Baje Re

In the new song, Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt dance in front of a Durga Puja idol while wearing red anarkalis and churidars, respectively. Both of them draw weird reactions from their separate families when they dance angrily. When Rani’s family members do show there, Rocky’s grandma, played by Jaya Bachchan, storms out in a furious manner.

In the song, Alia and Ranveer dance enthusiastically while dressed in traditional red attire. The song has numerous backing dancers who are all dressed in crimson and is set during the Durga Puja holiday. It was written by Amitabh Bhattacharya and is performed by Darshan Raval and Bhumi Trivedi. Vaibhavi Merchant choreographed the song, and Pritam provided the music.

In Kolkata, Alia and Ranveer debuted the song.
