In a recent interview, actress Shabana Azmi said that she was a terrible cook. Shabana claimed that neither her children, filmmaker-actor Farhan Akhtar and director Zoya Akhtar, nor her lyricist-husband Javed Akhtar were admirers of her cuisine. They actually split apart when she goes into the kitchen. Shabana said that she has the ability to “burn” meals.

In 1984, Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar got married. Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar, his children from his first marriage to Honey Irani, were born to him. Shabana discussed her family’s reaction to her cooking abilities in a recent interview.

Shabana recently discussed her lack of cooking skills in an interview with YouTuber Kamiya Jani of Curly Tales. She jokingly said, “Cooking ka, mere mein bohot hunar hai” (I am very talented when it comes to cooking). When I walk into the kitchen while you’re preparing the world’s best dish, you excuse yourself and urge me to keep it going until you return. It would have burned by then.

When questioned about her lack of “skill” and whether Javed Akhtar avoids her food, she responded, “I didn’t have the talent, so there. also, if I ever ask somebody Everyone starts to gently disperse when I announce that I’m going to cook. Only my devoted father, Kaifi Azmi sahab, used to consume my uncooked roti and remarked on how tasty it was (my father used to cook one made by me). I used to enjoy eating fresh roti and would recommend it). Thus, I am unable to cook. Javed Akhtar, Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, Bhai Baba, and Tanvi Azmi are the first to avoid my food (Javed Akhtar, Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, and Bhai Baba are the most evasive).”

Shabana also disclosed that she and Javed Akhtar attempted to break up multiple times “because of the kids” in the same interview. She remembered the difficulties and struggles she had to go through because Javed was already married when they fell in love.
