At the Zari Mania festival, where the programme will have its international premiere, the first poster for the family drama “Barzakh,” in which Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed feature, was revealed.
The creators of the Zindagi Original show “Barzakh,” which stars actors Fawad and Sanam, released the show’s poster in Lille, France, ahead of its world premiere at the Series Mania festival.
‘Barzakh’ is helmed by highly acclaimed director Asim Abbasi, who also directed Zindagi’s first original Churrells and feature film Cake. Actor Sanam Saeed, screenwriter-director Asim Abbasi, and producer Shailja Kejriwal all attended the occasion.
Barzakh holds the singular distinction of being the only South Asian series chosen. The series will make its premiere in the International Panorama of the Showcase, a 12-title competitive division where it will be eligible for awards for Best Series, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Actor, Student Jury, and Best Audience.
Barzakh, a family drama starring Fawad Khan and Saman Saeed, addresses the inter-generational trauma between fathers and sons and is centred on an elderly man’s yearning for love. The narrative is set within a fictional universe of supernatural beings and extraordinary happenings that illustrate the divide between life, death and rebirth.
Fawad Khan portrays a single parent who is endearing but also tormented with guilt over what he has lost.
“With our Series Mania premiere, our poster that we now unveil to the public delivers an early look of what to expect from the series — the abstract beauty and ambiguity that penetrates people in postmodernity,” said Fawad. Relationships show how difficult it is to navigate the world.
The main female character’s actor, Sanam Saeed, felt it was lovely to be a part of the Series Mania festival. I immediately felt a connection to the Barzakh story, and Asim Abbasi has turned it into a stirring, lovely series that will restore our confidence in romance and the meaning of life. It gave me the motivation to take on a difficult task and changed the way I saw the world. All of the actors have performed extremely various and varied roles, and it is very different from what we have seen on TV. This series has my utmost pride, and I am delighted that the Series Mania festival is hosting its world debut.
This series was filmed by Asim in Pakistan’s stunning Hunza Valley and Karachi.
Asim mentioned this when discussing Barzakh and the poster: “The major themes of Barzakh are love and remembrance. When time slips and evaporates around us, we wanted a scene that portrayed love in its timeless expression but also had the transient, ephemeral nature of a memory, aside from the memory of the moment that it all began.
Producing “Barzakh” are Waqas Hasan and Shailja Kejriwal. Barzakh is the first Indo-Pak cross-border series to premiere globally, and it is truly an emotional time to give it to the world as a team, as Shailaja Kejriwal expressed in a statement regarding the launch. Is. As the anticipation builds, we are thrilled to unveil the Series Poster, which is just as enigmatic and stunning as the series we work together to produce.
I would like to offer my sincere gratitude to every cast member and crew member, as we could not have undergone this big project alone. “Barzakh has come to fruition through the combined passion, vision, and bravery of all concerned,” he said. We hope that people who enjoy creative stories and viewers from all around the world will enjoy this series as much as we do.
