Zeenat on Hare Rama, Hare Krishna

Zeenat explained how she came to be a Hare Ram, Hare Krishna a few months ago on Instagram. Zeenat wrote a note about how she had found Dev Anand and shared a black and white photo with him. His note stated in part, “My starmaker was Dev Sahab. It was 1970, and I believe OP Ralhan felt awful for me. Casting for Hare Rama Hare Krishna was being done at the time by Dev Saab and his Navketan team. Out of kindness, OP Ralhan suggested that he meet with me. My mother attended the meeting (remember, I was still a teenager). She continued to stay and fill my pipe with tobacco while I was speaking to her. Following the conclusion of the meeting, the landline was turned off.

He further added, “I was invited to the screening, which is how I was chosen for the role of Jasbir/Janice. Oh, but this is not the end of the story. My mother and I were about to leave the country with my family when Dev Sahab persuaded us to postpone our trip.”
