For the anime film, which will be offered in both Japanese with English subtitles and English dubbing, the studio will have access to Imax and PLFs.

The manga series by Koyoharu Gotoge, which ran in Shueisha’s Weekly Jump from February 2016 to May 2020, served as the inspiration for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. With its heartbreaking story of humanity and demons, exciting sword fights, endearing characters, and humorous moments, the series has sold 150 million manga units.

Prior Demon Slayers had strong box office debuts; 2021’s Mugen Train made a huge $21.2 million debut as theaters reopened in the midst of the pandemic, while 2023’s Swordsmith Village made $10.1 million.
