The cast member of “Saturday Night Live” told Amelia Dimoldenberg that she has a “very poor” opinion of the Grammy-winning singer.
She said her impression of the English Grammy-winning singer is “very horrible” when speaking with Chicken Shop Date host Amelia Dimoldenberg on the red carpet at Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary special on Sunday.
At first, Fineman began to mimic Dimoldenberg, who is also English. Dimoldenberg responded with a joke, “It is like I am gazing in the mirror right now,” before posing the question, “Is there an impersonation you can not crack?”
Fineman joked that “you right now, obviously,” before acknowledging that “Harry Styles is pretty bad.” She remembered performing the imitation once when the singer appeared on Saturday Night Live.
Before attempting to sound as British as possible, Fineman revealed, “I did it and he was like at the table and was so horrified by how horrible it was.” “Anyway, I am Harry Styles, anyway,” she added.
In addition to hosting Saturday Night Live in 2019, the singer of “As It Was” has made other appearances as the musical guest over the years. Since she and Styles have never previously appeared together in a live SNL skit, Fineman did not specify whose segment the impersonation was for.
Fineman attended the SNL50 celebration over the weekend together with hundreds of A-list celebrities and several current and past SNL cast members. Despite Styles’ absence, Sabrina Carpenter, Paul Simon, Miley Cyrus, Brittany Howard, Lil Wayne, The Roots, and Paul McCartney were among the other musicians who made appearances at the anniversary performance.
Bad Bunny, Lady Gaga, Post Malone, Jelly Roll, Bonnie Raitt, Brandi Carlile, Backstreet Boys, and Arcade Fire were among the other performers at Friday’s SNL 50: The Homecoming Concert at Radio City Music Hall.
