Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava showing in Bharuch descended into chaos after a guy damaged a multiplex’s silver screen. The event happened during the last performance, which was set to start at 11:45 PM on Sunday night at RK Cinemas. Jayesh Vasava, the accused, allegedly stormed towards the screen while intoxicated, damaged it with a fire extinguisher, and tore it apart. His arrest was confirmed by the police on Monday.
Motive Behind The Vandalism
When a scene showing Aurangzeb’s execution of Sambhajiraje Maharaj was shown, Vasava felt overwhelmed, according to officers from the Bharuch A Division Police Station. He tried to “fight Aurangzeb” on television in a fit of rage. He was detained by the multiplex staff before more harm could be done.
Multiplex Management Reacts
RV Sood, general manager of RK Cinema, provided information regarding the incident’s financial loss and disruption. “The employees of Bluechip Cinema called to let me know about the vandalism. To avoid more damage, we took the person out of the auditorium right away. An estimated Rs 1.5 lakh has been damaged. The planned screenings for Monday were impacted, but repairs were given top priority, and we planned to start up again at night.
Affected viewers were offered the option of a refund or to watch the movie in a nearby theater in order to handle the problem. Some chose to keep viewing the film on a different screen, while others chose to get refunds.
Legal Action Taken Against the Accused
Vasava verbally assaulted a female employee and threatened on-duty workers, according to a police report the movie theater’s management filed. He has so been charged with using profane language and causing property damage in accordance with the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Additionally, because he was intoxicated at the time of the occurrence, a separate complaint has been filed against him under the Prohibition Act.
