The vanity and extravagant lifestyle of the stars consume the most of the funds. What is not right?
The article lauded Pathan because it is still the most successful movie ever. It also discussed how movies like Selfie, starring Akshay Kumar, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, and Shehzada, starring Kartik Aaryan, underperformed. It now conflicts with the Telugu film Dussehra starring Ajay Devgn as Bhola Nani.Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh predicts that Bhola will surpass the 50 crore mark at the domestic net box office. On the extended weekend following its release, it made 44 crores. On the other side, Dussehra is closing in on joining the global 100 crore grossing club. In its first weekend at the international net box office, it made 87 crores.
All of these, however, still pale in comparison to Pathan’s phenomenal box office success. After beating out the Hindi-language version of Baahubali, it went on to become the most successful Hindi film of all time.
Days after attacking Pathan for the Besharam Rang song issue, Vivek earlier lauded Shah Rukh Khan for the film’s success. Shah Rukh was lauded by The Kashmir Files director with saving the movie from boycott calls.
It’s excellent that Vivek Agnihotri stated on The Carvaka Podcast that “Pathan worked simply because of Shah Rukh’s charisma and fan following, the way he marketed it, and the way he took responsibility for it.”
“I also believe that some praise should be given to those who made absurd accusations against the movie and those who excessively protested and demanded a boycott. They are not the same individuals as the typical “Boycott Bollywood gang.” a person of the type who has long advocated boycotting Bollywood. They had no need to do so because they were new competitors on the market. We’re going to burn this and that, there were some aggressive elements stating, and I think that also played a part. Obviously, we also have our media outlets.
