The removal of Twitter’s previous blue tick from verified names on the social media network caught everyone off guard. A day later, however, well-known celeb accounts with more than 1 million followers were given their badges back, while others were given the choice between joining Twitter Blue and purchasing the badge or going without the blue tick. We talked to a few celebrities about the issue to get their opinions and learn whether they are considering paying to have a blue tick or if they are hesitant to do so just yet. And if Blue Tick’s disappearance will have an impact on his friendship with his admirers.

Apoorva Asrani and Sophie Choudry react to the paid Twitter verification update

Nargis Fakhri – 4.1M

Simply put, I was taken aback when I realized the blue tick was missing on the day I made the decision to use the platform. I was astonished rather than bothered or concerned by it. I found it amusing, and Twitter obviously made a wise commercial decision. However, it came as a welcome surprise when the blue tick reappeared the following day because I most definitely did not pay for it. Although it’s nice to have it back, the fact that I am the same person whether or not I have the tick is undeniable. Blue tick or not, a fan will still be a fan.

Sophie Choudry – 2.2M

We all anticipated it, but I wasn’t certain of the exact timing. The same thing happened to Amitabh Bachchan, Virat Kohli, Salman Khan, Sachin Tendulkar, and many more celebrities’ Twitter accounts. As a result, I didn’t think much of it because I thought I was in excellent company. However, it’s good to see blue once more. I’m glad Twitter agreed to restore my blue tick. Whether we have a blue tick or not, I believe the true fans who want to follow us and participate in our conversation will always be there.

Renuka Shahane – 108k

About a month ago, everyone received a warning, and I continued to receive messages informing me that my blue tick would expire on a specific date. And I should sign up for Twitter Blue if I require it. Consequently, because I had already paid for it, my blue tick didn’t vanish. Although I’ve never really relied on the blue tick to certify me, it is a surefire way to let people know that this account is real. It’s unsettling to consider that anyone may mimic anyone now that verification badges are available for purchase. I’m just going to be patient and see how this subscription pans out. I don’t take it seriously at all. Nothing I post on social media confirms my humanity. Due to my subscription, my Blue Tick never runs out, and I don’t hold it against anyone who choose not to pay for it.

Pulkit Samrat – 480k

Definitely cause for concern was Blue Tick’s disappearance. False tales are fuel for the fire of misinformation, and we don’t need that fire. I’m not currently a Twitter Blue subscriber. I’ll watch to see how it turns out. The relationship with the fans runs deeper than Blue Tick, so while this may cause some misunderstanding, we’ll move past it. I’m really excited to see Blue Tick and my friend Pulkit Samrat together!

Karanvir Bohra – 199 thousand

I’m astonished because I didn’t notice the blue tick was missing. I would never, however, pay for it. Because I don’t use Twitter frequently and am not particularly political, I don’t give a damn. I can express myself on other platforms since I am more of an entertainer and content developer. My followers will continue to follow me because of my opinions. I don’t let the lack of a blue tick stop me from doing what I do or from making it known, and I don’t believe it will have an impact on how I come across on stage. Elon Musk is attempting to become Thanos by eradicating blue ticks from people; let him have his cheap thrills.

Apoorva Asrani – 30 thousand

The Blue Tick was supposed to vanish as planned, therefore I’m amazed it happened so late. I don’t see the necessity to get a subscription right now. I’m liking the marketing that I’m seeing for the first time on Twitter. You don’t receive a VIP section if you’re famous or of a certain heritage. So I’m taking advantage of it now. I might purchase it for the editing capability, but I’m not ready for it. The fact that I’m not there to downplay what I’ve done in the past in order to become what I stand for now also makes me doubt that it will actually harm my fan base. What counts most is whether my ideas and words resonate with other individuals. I always feel like I relate to people, and I’ll keep doing that.

Ridhi Dogra – 125 thousand

The disappearance of Blue Tick doesn’t worry me personally because these are all outcomes of what we do. People don’t have phony profiles, which is why verification occurred in the first place. It was practical with a blue tick, so it’s absurd that it’s gone now so people buy it. It’s not a big thing to purchase a subscription, but I feel quite comfortable in my zone. I think that whatever it is, my work should be able to speak for itself. I’m not in a hurry. Although I am not paying for it, I am free to leave the platform if I have any issues. I am pretty idealistic in that regard because, to yet, I have never promoted a post.
