Anubhav Sinha, a filmmaker whose movie “Bheed” is soon to be released, stated that he chose to compare the Covid lockdown to the Partition out of personal preference.
The movie, which features Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar in the key roles, depicts the tale of numerous migrant labourers who travelled great distances and overcame obstacles to get home during India’s first and toughest statewide lockdown. Was.
The Covid lockdown of 2020 and the Partition of India were likened in a dialogue in the movie that recently caused the removal of the Bheed trailer.
Anubhav Sinha commented on the link between the two incidents, stating, “I personally made the comparison between the Covid shutdown and the Partition. Each filmmaker makes an effort to incorporate events and their effects on society using their unique perspective and interpretation.
“I wanted to emphasise the sense of loss of belonging felt by migrant workers who had to quit their workplaces overnight,” he continued. Suddenly, he is informed that his workplace is not his residence. He was unemployed and had no other source of money. He couldn’t even do that when he made the decision to return to his village. I noticed significant similarities between the Covid lockdown and the partition of India. Nevertheless, such scenes and exchanges have since been cut from the movie.
The movie “Bheed” is scheduled to premiere on March 24.
