With its theatrical re-release last year, Avinash Tiwary’s 2018 film Laila Majnu saw newfound popularity and the long-awaited praise from the public. He discussed his 15-year battle to secure the position in a recent interview. He understood, nevertheless, that his quest for a position in the industry was far from ended when the movie’s initial box office performance was poor.

Avinash Tiwary revealed in an interview with Hollywood Reporter India that he decided to pursue acting because he came from a family that valued education. “I decided to pursue acting as a career and traveled to New York to train myself,” he stated. When I returned, I believed I was prepared. A degree is a prerequisite. And this was in 2007; I had assumed I would be given the red carpet, but no one showed up. I had no idea where to go.

Knowing that his portfolios and photographs will probably be thrown away, Avinash disclosed that he avoided leaving them at studios. In New York, people’s portfolios would, for some reason, end up in the garbage bin. I used to create DVDs and visit renowned studios to demonstrate my on-screen persona. I wanted to make movies, but that seemed so far off,” he continued.

Avinash eventually got Laila Majnu after 15 years of battling, but things did not work out as planned. “It took me 15 years to obtain that one film,” he said. I was worn out since I had no idea what to do next. After three years of work, the movie was taken out of theaters in three days. I was at a loss for what to do. Should I give one more movie a shot? You recognize that this is a game at this point.
