Zaka Ashraf, a former chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), wants the present board to have a chance against India and other nearby nations because India declined to tour Pakistan for the 2023 Asia Cup.
India had previously stated that it would not be safe to travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup. After an initial deadlock, the two cricket governing bodies are swiftly advancing toward a settlement that will allow both teams to compete against one another outside of Pakistan.
Zaka Ashraf commented on Pakistan’s choice in an interview with Dawn, saying: “The Asian Cricket Council board should be brought into confidence against the Indian stand of not visiting Pakistan for board members to participate.

According to rumors, the PCB chairman will suggest to the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) that Pakistan host the remaining matches while neutral sites host India’s matches. According to Ashraf, other cricket governing bodies might change their minds and support the BCCI’s push for India to play at neutral sites.
The schedule was given to PCB by all of the ACC’s board members, therefore Zaka Ashraf questioned how they could do a U-turn to appease India.
Najam Sethi, the head of the PCB, had earlier stated that if the BCCI forbade the Indian team from visiting Pakistan for the Asia Cup, Pakistan could not tour India for the World Cup. Pakistan will host the Asia Cup in 2023, but India will host the ODI World Cup in 2023, which will begin later this year.
By suggesting that India play their matches at a neutral site, PCB has a strong argument, according to Zaka Ashraf
Zaka Ashraf went on to say that if India refused to travel to Pakistan, the PCB might offer to have them play their games at a neutral site. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC), however, thinks that holding the event in both countries is not commercially viable, according to a recent BCCI source.
Zaka Ashraf was there and stated, “I think the PCB has a very strong argument to make by inviting India to play their Asia Cup matches at a neutral venue if they don’t want to come to Pakistan.
India’s participation in the Asia Cup 2023, which is slated to take place in Pakistan, will be decided by the BCCI, according to information provided by Indian Sports Minister Anurag Thakur earlier this month.
India and Pakistan have been partnered with qualifiers for the six-nation Asia Cup, which will be played in the 50-over format and most likely take place in the first half of September 2023. The second group consists of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. The final will be one of 13 games that will be spread out over 13 days.
