But before we were even grownups, we understood that she was meeting our family pretty quickly, he added. And my father just had one question for us. Hey, I know that you might be by your mother’s side, he added. You might adore your mum above all else. Helen may not be as dear to you as your mother is. But I do urge that you treat her with respect. As you must acknowledge that she is a component of my life, treat her with the same respect. And you have to recognise that it is reality right now if you have any love or respect for me.
Arbaaz spoke with Helen in his chat show, The Invincibles, last month. Helen acknowledged that when she worked with Salim Khan in her debut movie in the 1960s, she didn’t pay much attention to him. She recalled her initial impression of Salim Khan during their talk. Helen claimed that she was known for treating set members “like furniture” and failing to engage with them.
