In 2001, he won the National Film Award for Best Editing for his short, Aligarh, starring Manoj Bajpayee. But recently, the director exposed all the Bollywood delights and discussed the “evil side” of the business. Apoorva Asrani discussed calling a journalist for accusing the late Sushant Singh Rajput of being a part of the MeToo movement in an interview with Hindustan Times. Asrani recalled how SSR got into a fight with a major producer and was wrongfully accused of participating in the MeToo movement. She said, “When I publicly called out that journalist, the blind item trend came full circle. Yet, I was put on a blacklist by other journalists who supported him. Kin No “senior” reviewer gave my courtroom drama web series a recommendation. Nevertheless, it quickly became popular. Although it was the fifth-most watched series of all time, none of them continued the plot. Ironically, the production company that Sushant had a beef with now employs the blind item journalist in a high-paying position.

As the debate continued, Apoorva Asrani disclosed how powerful individuals had aimed their attacks at Sushant Singh Rajput and remarked, “The words used by director Abhishek Kapoor to characterize what was done to Sushant are quite appropriate. He described it as the “systematic breakdown of a fragile intellect.” They exploit the entire system at this point to gradually disregard and alienate you. Despite the fact that Sushant’s most recent movie may have made 100 crores, many predicted it would be a failure. Despite speaking fluently, he gave the impression that he was having some sort of mental issue. The worst part is that we could hardly see the truth as they continued to argue to the last end. It was intended to demonstrate that while he had successful achievements, his mindset needed work.”

The director described how Priyanka was surrounded in 2012 after a similar campaign was started against her. “In just one year, she had produced the blockbusters Barfi and Agneepath, yet a city daily ran front-page headlines claiming that no hero wanted to collaborate with her. They weren’t treating her fairly “she was unable to develop as an actress and a star. Priyanka isn’t the first person to criticize the Film mafia. Asrani explained that “anybody who is outspoken, who refuses to be insulted, who doesn’t demean themselves by agreeing with their regressive beliefs, they are forced into a corner.” She was referring to numerous other performers who were in a similar predicament.
