Anushka Sharma once revealed that she cried like a baby when Asin lost her debut award (Photo Credits-Still from the movie)

Anushka Sharma is taking a break from acting after her box office failure, Zero. In addition to caring for her baby Vamika, the actress is currently preparing for Chakda Express, in which she portrays Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami.

An old video of the actress talking about her first movie, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, and how Asin from the Ghajini film won all the debut accolades, has resurfaced online. Anushka had to fight hard because both movies came out in the same year.

Due to the fact that her performance opposite Shah Rukh Khan was a “dream come true,” Anushka Sharma was certain she would win the prize for Best Debut. She was shocked, though, to learn that she had had lost the prize to a more experienced actor.

The Ae Dil Hai Mushkil actress and Niranjan Iyengar may be seen conversing in a video posted on Reddit. Anushka said of her first movie that she was certain of winning because Asin was a well-known actor in the South.

Anushka remarked, “I did the maths; Asin has translated this movie (Ghajini) into Tamil and Telugu, among other languages. She has definitely been acting for a long time. I’m making my debut, par us nahi denge. I recently worked on a new movie. I require inspiration.

The actress even acknowledged that she cried after not being given the honour. “As a result, I felt sure I would succeed. I was given it, though. I felt depressed and angry. I bawled like a baby,” Anushka admitted.

Anushka acknowledged that she was quite disappointed that she was passed up for her debut. With Rab Ne Bana De Jodi, the actress from Zero made her acting debut in 2008. In the same year, Ghajini, starring Asin, was also released.

Though Anushka didn’t win the award, she certainly won hearts with her debut film and hit the ground running with her second film, Band Baaja Baaraat. The actress was last seen in Tripti Dimri – Babil Khan starrer Kaala, where she did a cameo.
