One of the two Indian films screening at Cannes this year is Kennedy, directed by Anurag Kashyap. Anurag, a director known for his gritty, dark movies that have had multiple Cannes premieres over the years, has now explained why he collaborated with DJ Mohabbat on the romantic musical Nearly Pyaar, which was shot after the director left. was perceived as Stylish.

Kennedy, a film by Anurag Kashyap, has Sunny Leone and Rahul Bhat in the key roles. On Instagram, the director posted the movie’s official poster with the caption: “Keep your eyes wide open because Kennedy is approaching! Here is the official Kennedy poster, which will make its debut at the Festival de Cannes in the latter part of next month.” Rahul Bhat’s persona is pictured clutching a gun and donning a mask on the official poster. The retro-themed poster also features Sunny Leone’s persona.
Anurag now discusses the decision to make “Almost Pyar” his final collaboration with DJ Mohabbat in an interview with Variety. “I’ve always enjoyed what I’ve done. Personally, I won’t do anything that I don’t want to. But in the interim, following Psycho Raman, there was a period in which this entire Phantom [the business founded by Kashyap and his associates that closed] The annoyance that occurred, the lockdown that occurred, there were a lot of things going on,” the filmmaker remarked.
I have spent a lot of time working on other people’s scripts, Anurag continued. I authored a lot of other people’s scripts, but the only one I wrote myself was almost love with DJ Mohabbat. This was because I was bored with people who kept wanting me to return and make another gangster movie, so I wanted to explore this notion. If you don’t have something novel and exciting to do, why would I do that?”
The romantic musical Nearly Love with DJ Mohabbat featured Karan Mehta and Alaya F in key parts. It is focused on contemporary young couples and how they navigate a world rife with bigotry, predatory conduct, and hesitation from older generations. It was presented by Zee Studios and Good Bad Films, and it hit theaters on February 3, 2023. On March 31, it became streamable on Netflix.
