Laal Singh Chaddha, Aamir Khan’s most recent movie, underperformed at the box office and failed to gross even 50 crores in its first weekend. Laal Singh Chaddha, a Hindi version of the 1994 Hollywood film Forrest Gump that also starred Kareena Kapoor, was directed by Advait Chandan. In a recent interview, actor Anupam Kher discusses the issue of “boycotting Bollywood” and whether it had anything to do with Laal Singh Chaddha’s failure.
Laal Singh Chaddha, which features Aamir Khan, is not a favourite of Anupam Kher’s.
Due to its August 11, 2022 release date, Laal Singh Chaddha was unable to take advantage of the extended weekend surrounding Raksha Bandhan and Independence Day. The first weekend’s sales totaled 46 crores. Later, the movie was made available on Netflix. Anupam Kher has asserted that if “Lal Singh Chadha” had been a superior film, nothing could have prevented its success.
Laal Singh Chaddha was a poor film, according to Anupam, who spoke to news agency ANI. No force could have stopped it if the movie had been excellent. PK by Aamir Khan was excellent. The key is that you must acknowledge and accept the truth.
The seasoned actor continued, “I am absolutely against the boycott trend, but you cannot prevent someone from doing what they want to do. However, if your product is good, people will buy it. They actually will. Carry out your revenge. And doing great things is the only way to stop this trend.
Anupam further stated that he believes the “Boycott Bollywood” trend won’t have an impact on the movie when discussing it. If the movie is good, he claimed, it will be seen, but if it is awful, it won’t be seen—and not because of the boycott movement. Anupam said that everyone has the right to freedom of expression, and if an actor has the freedom to comment on any matter, then he should also have the guts to deal with it. He was alluding to Aamir’s earlier remark.
When Aamir Khan’s 2015 interview, in which he claimed his then-wife Kiran Rao urged he leave India due to “growing intolerance,” reappeared on social media, it sparked the boycott wave against Laal Singh Chaddha. appeared from and caught people’s interest.
Anupam’s upcoming film, “Emergency,” is being directed by Kangana Ranaut. Along with IB71, The Signature, and Metro as Dino from Anurag Basu, he also has The Signature in development.
