Alaya, granddaughter of famous actor Kabir Bedi and daughter of Pooja Bedi, said she did not consider herself to be a “Nepo baby,” at least not entirely. Alaya claimed that she didn’t grow up attending business gatherings. It frustrates her sometimes when people talk about nepotism without realizing that “there are levels of nepotism,” she added, adding that her mother gave up acting before she was even born.

In the 2020 film Jawaani Jaaneman, starring Saif Ali Khan and Tabu, Alaya made her acting debut. Since then, she has appeared in movies like DJ Mohabbat and Kartik Aaryan’s Freddy (2022) and Nearly Pyaar (2023). Alaya recently stated that even if she “comes from affluence,” it is unfair to suggest that everything she accomplishes is a result of her place of birth.
