Naseeruddin and Kamal Comment on the Kerala Story
Speaking on The Kerala Story, Kamal Haasan stated his disagreement. “I told you, I am against propaganda films,” news outlet ANI cited Kamal as saying. Simply putting the “true story” in the form of a logo won’t do. This is untrue even though it truly ought to be. Naseeruddin Shah, on the other hand, contrasted the way Nazi Germany produced films about the Jewish people and said it is a worrisome trend that viewers are choosing to watch the movie.

Adah Sharma was recently questioned about her response to these criticisms of the movie made by Kamal and Naseeruddin in a new interview with Jagran. “I am happy about our country’s freedom of expression because it allows people to publicly criticize, disparage, and name a movie without even seeing it,” he stated. The teaser for The Kerala Story, which was released in April and purported to show that more than 32,000 women from Kerala were coerced into becoming Muslims and recruited into the terrorist organization ISIS, sparked the controversy surrounding the film. Subsequently, the image was removed from the trailer, and the plot was reframed as involving three Keralan ladies. The movie did well at the box office. The Kerala Story, which was allocated for it, has now completed 50 days in theaters and has brought well about 40 crores to 300 crores in local and international box office receipts.
