Chhaava was released with a lot of enthusiasm. One actor who appears to have been impressed by this performer is Shardul Pandit, who took to social media to express his thoughts and wonder why Maratha soldiers and stories of their valor are not mentioned in the Indian educational system.
Shardul Pandit praised Laxman Utekar, Vicky Kaushal, and other performers for their impressive performances in a video posted to his Instagram page. “What was preventing Bollywood from exposing them? Why were not they included in my textbooks or given the respect they deserved? As he concluded, he said, “Please take your kids and go to watch CHHAVA as we all have done a gross injustice to this glorious Maratha Sher #chatrapatisambhajimaharaj by not celebrating him enough in our history.” “And now when @maddockfilms @laxman.utekar and @vickykaushal09 have made a very accurate film I see certain top YouTubers making videos about linking it to politics and questioning why is this film made now,” he added.
Regarding the movie, Chhaava is based on the same-titled novel and features Rashmika Mandanna as Yesubai and Akshaye Khanna as Aurangazeb, with important roles being played by Diana Penty, Ashutosh Rana, Divya Dutta, Vineet Kumar Singh, and others. The movie came out on February 14 in theaters.
