Following the grand premiere of the trailer for the Amazon Original Series Jubilee, Prime Video and the series’ producer and director Vikramaditya Motwane today unveiled a special project called “Jubilee Day” – a day-long film festival that revives the allure of classic blockbusters on the big screen. At noon on April 6, the PVR Icon in Andheri, Mumbai, will screen four timeless hits: Mr. & Mrs. 55 (1955), Pyaasa (1957), Aradhana (1969), and Kati Patang (1971).

Jubilee is a fascinating story centred around a group of individuals and their aspirations and pursuits of love, as well as a celebratory take on filmmaking, and it is set in the early years of the Indian film industry. The festival’s “Jubilee Day” showcases “Jubilee Hits,” which are timeless movies that enjoyed success in theatres for 25 weeks (silver jubilee) to 50 weeks (golden jubilee). All spectators will have the chance to see these timeless films on this uncommon occasion.

The Jubilee series’ producer and director, Vikramaditya Motwane, remarked, “I grew up adoring timeless and great movies. Films have always been a big part of my life, even before I started making movies. I’ve always wanted the viewers to have a glimpse into the fascinating world of the classic Hindi cinema industry, which I’ve managed to do through the series, and I thought that “Jubilee Day” was a chance to support that effort by paying our sincere respects. It was a great thought. In the magical field we work in. We appreciate Mr. Sushil Kumar Agarwal of Ultra Media & Entertainment Pvt Ltd and Mr. Ashim Samant’s support of this effort and assistance in bringing these seminal works of Indian cinema to the public. With this one-day event, I’m hoping the audience will remember some of the vintage appeal of movies.
